The Judge from Hell, is based on a supernatural twist in the world of legal justice. It tells the story of judge Bitna, who was known for leniency, possessing a demon sent to Earth on a mission to bring ten criminals back to hell. Publicly, everyone condemned Bitna for being lenient. No one knew behind those sentences lay a darker purpose: a demon was trying to retrieve the souls of people who committed grave sins.
Things escalate dramatically when she starts developing feelings for Daon, a detective surrounding much of the same work. The romance complicates her mission as she is torn between completing the demon's task and human emotions. The Judge from Hell will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on September 21, 2024. It is a legal drama sort with Korean supernatural and romantic aspects. The plot revolves around Bitna, a judicial officer who was notorious for being too lenient; the entire world hates her for this. Ironically, it is this very demon that possesses Bitna, and he works in hell, only assigned the task of capturing ten criminals and dragging their souls there.
The demon, tasked to earth with this mission, uses the position of Bitna to find and eliminate those criminals. So, while staying under demonic possession, Bitna performs her assigned tasks. She outwardly remains a lenient judge, keeping her intentions secret. However, everything is set aside as it changes its course when she encounters Daon, a passionate detective. Soon enough, however, Bitna falls in love with him, and that complicates things for her, creating an inner conflict between her growing emotions toward him and the demon's vengeful mission.
The Judge From Hell Cast
The movie stars an interesting cast with Park Shin-hye playing the role of Kang Bit-na, the judge invaded by a demon, and responsible for dragging criminals back to hell. Opposite her is Kim Jae-young as Han Da-on, a detective whose romantic involvement with Bit-na creates a moral and emotional dimension in the film.
The supporting cast includes Jung Tae-gyu, played by Kyu-han Lee, Kim In-kwon, and Jae-hyun, played by Lee Joong-ok, and Joo Hyung-seok, played by Han Sang-jin. All of whom play their respective roles as the drama is a mixture of legal intrigue and supernatural conflict in which every character helps bring to the fore different roles to make this plot weirdly dramatic and emotionally deep.
