Chidiya Udd is a crime drama set against the backdrop of the notorious red-light district in the heart of Mumbai, with all the human trafficking and prostitution under the shroud of shadow. The inspiration is from the novel “Cages” by Aabid Surti, the lives of which women are living here are so brutal and complicated. It will concentrate on the desperation of a young woman struggling for survival in such an underworld.
The narrative tracks her journey in a system riddled with danger and betrayal, all the while trying to find her way out of the arms of those who are exploiting and controlling her.
