Black Warrant Review: A gripping tale of vengeance, deception, and high-stakes action

Black Warrant is a very high-intensity gritty crime thriller series based on the setting of Tihar Jail, one of India's largest and most infamous jails, in an unforgiving environment. The series is a reality-based experience drawn from the real life of Sunil Gupta, a jailer at Tihar, chronicled in the book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury.

There's one such individual - Zahan Kapoor, an untried jailer, between brutal reality and duty; his acting shows a person's transformation from a highly idealistic officer to somebody moving through corruption and criminality is emotionally charged and compelling.

Rahul Bhat, the hardened criminal, adds tension and intrigue with chilling yet believable performances that create a great dynamic between him and Kapoor's character while pushing the moral boundaries of justice. Paramvir Singh Cheema, playing an officer entrenched in the institution's corrupt politics, plays moral ambiguity subtly.
