IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack: Vijay Varma Opens up About his Performance in the Show

Anubhav Sinha's directorial web drama series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is one of the highly anticipated drama series that has garnered immense attention and praise from the audience. The show has received immense appreciation from the audience. It is subjected to backlash for misrepresenting the religious identity of the five terrorists. The show generates immense buzz and excitement among the fans. The show stars Vijay Varma in the lead role who portrays the role of a pilot. The show is a massive hit among viewers but due to some reasons, it faces controversy on the internet.

Talking about his character, Vijay Varma reveals that when he met Captain Sharan, he saw a very dignified soft-spoken individual. It was his responsibility to portray him in his light. And yes, flamboyance and aggression have their charm and takers. he has played some of them. That's where one peeps in and relates to the performer. he was relying heavily on his Captain, but the captain didn't direct him much. He thinks the captain trusted him and let him do what he felt was right in the situation. He did everything that was written in the script. there were no improvisations per se. He didn't do much research, but he observed and practiced the work of a pilot extensively. 

Vijay was bowled over by his co-stars, just to be part of such an illustrious cast was an honor and he will cherish it all his life. He stated that the real-life captain called and praised him for the work. Captain told him that very happy to see the realistic portrayal of the cockpit too. The captain's wife told him that he carried the same kind of personality as her husband in his performance.  He spent some time prepping for it at the flight simulation center and thought he realized the job's technical nature.

The drama series is set to premiere on the streaming platform Netflix and explores the real-time story from 25 years ago. In 1999, The show follows the story of Indian Airlines as a plane is hijacked by 5 terrorists.
