Talking about the film, Vijay reveals his excitement for the film, he says this is the first 100 crores film. Very film he chooses like that. Some films become hits like this. Some films connect. they choose all the films with so much passion and with so much effort once they do. He reveals when the project came to him, He just loved it. He loves the non-linear writing. That is attracted to him because it was a surprise for him. So the director said, first listen to the story and enjoy it. Then he sat and listened to the whole story.

Vijay talks about his hesitation to accept Maharaj

At first, Vijay was hesitant to accept the Maharaj, as he had already committed himself to another project with a similar project. He reveals he was supposed to do one more film like this only, so he said, he already gave his word to one director. So he told Nithilan, to let him check whether the other director was making that film. If he is then, he can't do this film. Then some are convincing him for that film. Then Vijay said, he would try to do that film. But he is not expecting many films, Maharaj. He would hope that if happens more often such films should happen more often.
