Maharaj is one of the most anticipated series of the year. It will be set to release on the OTT platform Netflix on 14 June. As per a press release on Netflix, Maharaj embarks on a journey of a landmark legal battle as it was based on the Maharaj Libel case of 1862. Reportedly, Maharaj follows the story of Karsandas Mulji, a journalist and social reformer, who was a pioneering advocate for women's rights and social reform. A student at Elphinstone College in Mumbai and a protege of the scholar leader Dadabhai Naroji, he wrote on window remarriage, stood up for the oppressed, and sowed the seeds of reform in society.
